If you are working through Expedition Project 2, the Ion Sputter can quickly become one of the most frustrating materials to track down. This purple Epic resource is required during the fourth stage, but its low drop rate and limited spawn areas make ARC Raiders Items such as this one especially valuable to players who are trying to finish their progression without wasting countless raids.

    Focus on Stella Montis

The best place to begin your search is Stella Montis. Ion Sputter is connected to the technology left behind by the Exodus period, so it makes sense to concentrate on areas containing old industrial and technical equipment rather than searching randomly across the map.

Among all the possible locations, the Assembly area and its surrounding workshops deserve the most attention. These locations contain several containers that can potentially provide the item, giving you a better chance of finding it during a focused farming run.

    Check the Assembly Workshops First

The Assembly Workshops are generally considered the main farming spot for Ion Sputter. While moving through the area, check blue and white drawers, toolboxes, and other containers inside the workshops. Do not simply run through the rooms looking for obvious loot because the item can be tucked away in ordinary storage.

There is also a particularly useful room on the second floor. It sits close to the Raider extraction hatch near the Assembly area and is often regarded as a strong spot for Ion Sputter searches. Since the room is close to an extraction option, it can also make a successful find easier to secure.

Search the Lobby and Medical Rooms

If the Assembly Workshops do not produce anything, expand your route toward the Lobby and Medical Rooms. These areas are not considered as reliable as the workshops, but they are still worth checking when you are already nearby.

In the Lobby, pay attention to the gray lockers beneath the stairs above the subway station. The Medical Rooms are another possible source, with medical bags and cabinets offering a chance to find the material. These locations should work as secondary stops rather than replacing the Assembly route entirely.

    Protect Your Find Immediately

Finding an Ion Sputter is only half the job. Because Assembly can attract plenty of player activity, carrying the item across the entire map can turn a successful search into a frustrating loss.

The simplest solution is to use your Safe Pocket. Ion Sputter can be placed inside it, so move the material there immediately after picking it up. If another player eliminates you later in the raid, the protected item can still return to your base.

Use the Nearby Hatch for Extraction

Another useful preparation is bringing the appropriate Hatch Key. The Assembly Workshops contain a Raider Hatch extraction point, allowing you to leave from the same general area where you found the resource.

This can save a huge amount of travel time. Instead of crossing the map toward a public extraction point while carrying a rare material, you can head toward the nearby hatch and reduce the number of dangerous encounters between the loot location and safety.

    Consider Safer Farming Tactics

Players who struggle with heavy PvP around Assembly can also try changing how they approach their raids. Running several Free Kit matches without deliberately fighting other players may help create less aggressive encounters. Some players use this approach for three or four rounds, avoiding unnecessary combat and focusing only on looting.

Friendly players can also be useful. If you encounter someone who is clearly not looking for a fight, communication through voice or text may open the door to an item trade. Players who have already completed their own progression may have an extra Ion Sputter and could be willing to exchange it for valuable materials such as Magnetron or other high-tier purple resources.

    Make Every Successful Raid Count

Ion Sputter farming is mostly about choosing the right area and reducing the risk after the item finally appears. Start with Assembly and its workshops, check the second-floor room carefully, then move toward the Lobby and Medical Rooms if necessary. Once you find the resource, protect it immediately and use the nearby hatch whenever possible.

If repeated searches are still taking too long, trading can provide another practical route. For players looking to supplement their farming, buy ARC Raiders Materials can also be an option when you want to spend less time searching and more time progressing through your objectives.

If you’re struggling to find the Ion Sputter in 88DD game’s Expedition Project 2, you’re not alone—it’s a notorious pain point. The purple Epic resource’s scarcity makes farming raids feel like a never-ending grind, especially when progression hinges on it explore gaming platform . Players often resort to grinding ARC Raiders for any chance at securing it, but the drop rates can still feel cruel.
