Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 2.96% [from Investing]

Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Semiconductor and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 2.96%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Creative Sensor Inc (TW:8249), which rose 9.99% or 4.15 points to trade at 45.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Roundtop Machinery Industries Co Ltd (TW:1540) added 9.94% or 4.35 points to end at 48.10 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.92% or 7.70 points to 85.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Jinan Acetate Chemical Co Ltd (TW:4763) was down 9.80% or 94.00 points to 865.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
